Making and decorating paper eggs @ WBCL

Plastic eggs have lots of uses but are really difficult to paint on due to the slick surface. The shape makes them a bit harder to stabilize too so I hit on the idea of covering them with tissue paper. I tried out several glues and found stick glue sticks to work best for everyone. We used the slightly heavier paper torn into strips and irregular pieces and covered the entire egg. We gave it a quick dry with a hair dryer then painted our designs. Most were able to complete 2 in the hour. One of the moms made a chick complete with wings and feet. Great creative impulses in our group. Next week we are making a home recycling center.
