Painting pumpkins 19 and counting
When I volunteered to teach a class on pumpkin painting this spring to my friend's 56ers group, I never thought I would be painting a roomful of pumpkins as well but there you are! They are raising funds for breast cancer treatment in south Texas so how could I say "NO!" I have only 2 left to finish and am ready to give it up until October. They have turned out really great ( if I can compliment my own work.)

Excellent work! what do u use to paint?
I generally use paint markers-they come out nice and glossy. I'm trying a very intricate grim reaper, but it required mixing paints, so I kind of dotted the colors I needed and smoothed them around with a brush....so sticky, though, so not ideal. But for the effort, I'm surprised it's coming out so well. I did Johnny Depp as a pirate, and it looks great. That's where I got into mixing the colors a bit...but maybe a different medium is what I need for this. If you can comment back, please do. I'm not registered on this site, however and shouldn't post my email online...Have Fun! Too bad pumpkins are scarce this year and quite expensive, otherwise I was going to do it as a fundraiser for my son's school.
